Caldera team comprises group of multi/interdisciplinary professionals who have served Industry and academia in the field of Energy and Utilities, Mining, Infrastructure and Geospatial Industries.

OUR SERVICES IN GIS

“Caldera provides high quality, vendor independent GIS based data integration and management solutions in order to keep all your team completely in sync, improving deliveries and efficiencies, seamless access to various data and platforms, therefore enhancing productions and ROI. We offer a high quality, vendor independent, data management services. Critical knowledge and essential operational support is essential to ensure safe, reliable and efficient development and operation of oil and gas facilities, onshore and offshore. Caldera’s expertise in collecting and analyzing data removes risk and uncertainty from upstream and downstream oil and gas operations. We provide life-of-field solutions that streamline projects from exploration and development to production and decommissioning. Caldera provides wide range of services in Oil & Gas sector also: “

Caldera’s Team offers utility conversion services for utility supply lines; Water mains, data lines, telephone lines, power lines, gas mains, and sewer lines. Caldera can help in documenting vital underground and overhead assets digitally. We specialize in utility mapping which consists of many different services including full system digitization, system modeling, land base creation, revisions, work order updates, circuit map creation, raster to vector map conversion etc

Caldera can develop Municipal GIS systems which manage various tasks of a municipality such as Property Tax, Birth and Death Registration, Socio Economic Data management and Holding registration. This also shows the geospatial view of the current municipal area linked with the corresponding database. The database possesses attributes of each individual property with information such as land owner, co-owner, mailing & permanent address, house style, built year, individual room measurements, compliance with the regulations of the building authorities, public / private utilities mapping to the plot, street characteristics and amenities. There can also be a provision of linking each individual plots with their digital photographs, and a link to the Map showing the location of the plot. It involves the following:

  • Computerization of land records
  • Digitization of existing spatial entities such as base maps
  • Updation of property records
  • Property Tax Assessment
  • Infrastructure database creation
  • Survey of the individual properties
  • Updation of the non-spatial database on a day to day citizen centric level

Data is not always available in its most suitable format and may require conversion into a more suitable or useable format for GIS use. This may include capture from paper maps into an accurate GIS database, or conversion from other GIS formats such as AutoCAD. Using our expert team of GIS consultants and extensive proven experience, Caldera is able to offer a full range of data capture and conversion services at internationally competitive prices, such as:

  • Scanning of large paper maps
  • Conversion from image files to geo-referenced imagery
  • Conversion of one vector format to another
  • Conversion from one coordinate system to another
  • Vector to raster or raster to vector conversion
  • Data capture of features from existing resources, both textural and spatial
  • Geocoding to convert street addresses into spatial locations

The design of the appropriate GIS database is a critical element of an overall successful GIS strategy and requires a a suitable data model to efficiently store, query and manage the geographical or spatial data. Caldera can consult, advise, design and create the GIS database which best matches the size and nature of the client requirement. This element of GIS is often inextricably linked to the data capture and conversion elements and our GIS specialists can design and implement a GIS database architecture for use with:

  • ArcGIS personal and file geodatabases
  • Oracle and SQL Server via ArcSDE Technology

Critical knowledge and essential operational support is essential to ensure safe, reliable and efficient development and operation of oil and gas facilities, onshore and offshore. Caldera’s expertise in collecting and analyzing data removes risk and uncertainty from upstream and downstream oil and gas operations. We provide lifeof-field solutions that streamline projects from exploration and development to production and decommissioning.

Caldera derives elevation models to support flood mapping, Ortho generation, 3D simulation, and more. We develop models using a variety of techniques including traditional photogrammetric techniques, LiDAR, and through autocorrelation of digital aerial imagery.

Today’s GIS users are relying more and more on the use of 3D models and visualization. Once limited in scope to video games and Hollywood effects, 3D environments have become part of the evolution of GIS, allowing for analysis in X, Y, and Z. From property appraisal specialists to the modern day war fighter, the need for highly detailed information in 3D is evident. Caldera is involved in the development and deployment of Terrain models to support 3D analysis. Surfaces derived from LiDAR, photogrammetric Techniques, and auto correlated surfaces; provide a framework for which a “skin” of realistic imagery is applied, creating a lifelike 3D scene.
